Bookkeeper / Accountant
About the role
TX Recruiting is hiring a Bookkeeper / Accountant for a professional services firm in Wylie, Texas that supports executives, family offices, and high-net-worth clients.
This is a hybrid role. You'll split your week between the Allen office and home.
You will own the books day to day: running AP and AR end to end, keeping QuickBooks Online clean and current, reconciling accounts, and getting monthly financials in front of leadership on time. You'll also support cash-flow planning, budgeting and forecasting, and you'll answer client questions about their numbers directly.
What you'll do
- Set up and maintain QuickBooks Online, including the chart of accounts, customer and vendor records, and workflows that hold up as the client base grows.
- Run accounts payable end to end: invoice processing, coding, approvals, payment scheduling and vendor questions.
- Run accounts receivable: invoicing, payment tracking, cash application, collections follow-up and account reconciliation.
- Reconcile bank, credit card and balance-sheet accounts, and chase down discrepancies quickly.
- Keep financial records, supporting documentation and audit-ready files accurate and complete.
- Support month-end close and prepare monthly profit-and-loss snapshots for management review.
- Support cash-flow planning, budgeting and forecasting by keeping the data clean and flagging trends worth knowing about.
- Write clear financial summaries and respond professionally to client questions.
- Coordinate with outside tax, payroll and advisory professionals.
- Handle sensitive financial and personal information with complete discretion.
Why consider it
The work is varied and visible. You are not one line in a large accounting department: you own the books, you talk to clients, and your reporting is what leadership uses to make decisions. There is room to grow into broader accounting work as the firm does.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a closely related field.
- Solid grounding in bookkeeping principles, accrual accounting and standard financial statements.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks certification preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel: formulas, reconciliations and financial schedules.
- Internship or professional accounting experience preferred. High-performing recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience supporting executives, family offices, professional-services firms or high-net-worth clients is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Polished, service-oriented communication, including explaining financial information to non-accounting audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several deadlines at once.
- Sound judgment, discretion and respect for client confidentiality.
